School and Group Programs

The Museum offers a Harris Road walking tour that can be done guided ($15.00) of self guided using a walking tour booklet (by donation). As well, guided tours of the General Store building, its hands-on collection and a slide show are available -- with ice cream making ($15.00), without ($10.00). The museum can also bring a selection of hands-on items, a slide show, and, if required, an ice cream maker, to a classroom or other group (with ice cream $20.00, without $15.00).

Heritage Thursdays

During July and August the Museum runs its Heritage Thursdays craft sessions for children. Begun in 1996, these 90 minute camps are designed for children between the ages of six and twelve, and introduce them to a variety of crafts both old and new. Organized and run by the Museum's summer students, the camps explore a variety of activities such as candle making, and tye dying. Traditionally, the last camp in August is dedicated to games and hand-cranking ice cream.
